Getting ready to jump on this blog.
Wow! That took an ice age. Two years after getting the URL, I’ve finally decided to take the time to commit to writing.
So, who am I? My name is Susan Brown and I am the first of, I hope, many people who will contribute to this blog. I started it because I am doing and I have been doing lots and lots of interesting things, and a blog is a very good way to communicate ideas with people I’d like to collaborate with, as well as with people I meet who are curious about the kinds of things I work on.
The topics on this blog pretty much mirror the work I’ve done with start-ups since my academic days. My academic research topics – Coastal Protection, Wave Dynamics and Fate and Transport – might get their own category at some point, but although the science was innovative, they didn’t result in a start-up company. For now, I’m planning to exile them to previous projects.
If you want to know about all my credentials, you can look for me on LinkedIn. I’ll set up a personal website at some point this spring and point you there when it is ready. The interesting point for lots of people is that I did my doctorate at MIT. Personally, I think that me being an “At Home Winner” on Bozo’s Circus is a lot more apt. And pretty humorous.
